Old Is New Again . . . 
The old expression, “What is old is new again,” holds true in home design with older styles coming back in vogue. 2016 saw a resurgence of Art Deco style and the experts say that design trend will continue in 2017.

Reaching the height of its popularity from the late 1920’s to early 1040’s, Art Deco, evokes glamour with rich bold colors and symmetrical designs. Geometric patterns, a staple in Art Deco, will be seen in wallpaper and home accents like pillows and curtains. Jewel tones and deep blues and greens are also in vogue this year, as well as tropical themes.
Two-toned walls are also being hyped in the design magazines. Bold, period colors are being used in vintage homes for an authentic look. Classic white and black are always in style and 2017 will be no different.
If you have watched any home renovation shows in recent months, you have probably noticed that light gray is the new white and is a good backdrop for bright accent colors.
Kitchen Updates

In the kitchen, mixing cabinet colors and woods is the latest style. This holds true to vintage homes bringing a bit of new with the old. Dark woods are out, being replaced with lighter, natural shades with white, white washed, and gray being the colors of choice.
Color sinks add a pop of color. The backsplash is another area where color accents are used, especially if the cabinets or counter tops are white.
